Ethanol Plant
Ethanol Plant
The Company will primarily produce ethanol from broken rice for blending with petroleum as biofuel and other by-products. The other by-products include carbon dioxide (CO2) and dried distillers’ grains with soluble (DDGS).
In addition, a 6.05 MW co-generation power plant will be built to meet the plant’s electrical power requirements. The power will be generated using high pressure steam from a 50 TPH boiler, which will provide steam for the process as well as power generation in the steam turbine generator.
VSBEPL has selected a site at Survepalli (25 Kms from Nellore) due to following strategic advantages.
Feed Stock & Fuel:
- Abundant Feed Stock and Husk is available in the vicinity of Nellore.
- Around 300 rice mills are currently functional with the main agricultural crop at being paddy and partly maize.
- Adequate raw materials will be available within 50 km – 250 km of the proposed project Site.
- The Krishnapatnam Port is very close for importing coal.
Transportation Cost:
As the rice mills are within the perimeter of 50 km – 500 km, it reduces the transportation cost.
VSBEPL has already obtained all statutory clearances for setting up the Ethanol Plant. The financial closure is under progress, post which, the project activities will commence. The Commercial Operation has been scheduled for January 2025.
